The weekend backpacking trip is a building block of the scouting experience. Included in this section are four resources for the hike leader.
Hikemaster's Handbook - A compilation of notes on how to plan and execute a successful weekend backpack trip. This handbook is also available in pdf and hardcopy forms.
Reservations - When and where to apply for local Wilderness Permits.
Iodine - A handy iodine purification table.
Graces - The small compilation of prayers and graces that seem quite appropriate when living in the outdoors.
Additional Information
The troop has two CDs with all of the topo maps for our local hiking areas. One CD covers the Angeles National Forest. The other CD covers the San Bernardino National Forest. Distribution is limited to Troop members. Contact us if you are interested in a copy.
